What we choose to eat is one of the biggest factors in our impact on the environment. Indeed, animal agriculture is a major source of water pollution and deforestation and has become one of the biggest culprits in global warming.
The Meat Free Mondays campaign is supported by Sir Paul McCartney and encourages you to adopt a vegetarian diet one day a week in an effort to reduce the demand for meat.

10:10 is a national campaign designed to promote achievable ways to reduce your carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.
The Green Centre supports this campaign and amongst our actions we are encouraging you to switch of your TV every Tuesday between 10pm and 10am the following day. Here's 3 good reasons why!
- Reduces energy and therefore supports the environment.
- It's good for your health. Your immune system functions optimally if you go to sleep at 10pm. It's all part of our natural sleep cycle. As we sleep, physical repair takes place between 10pm and 2am. Our immune cells patrol our bodies eliminating cancer cells, bacteria, viruses, and other harmful agents.
- Who knows what else might happen!
And remember you are trying to develop a new habit. Psychologists claim that it takes 17 repetitions for something to become a new habit so persevere!

10:10 is a national campaign designed to promote achievable ways to reduce your carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.
The Green Centre
supports this campaign and amongst our actions we are encouraging you
to switch of your TV every Tuesday between 10pm and 10am the following
day. Here's 3 good reasons why!
- Reduces energy and therefore supports the environment.
- It's good for your health. Your immune system functions optimally if you go to sleep at 10pm. It's all part of our natural sleep cycle. As
we sleep, physical repair takes place between 10pm and 2am. Our immune
cells patrol our bodies eliminating cancer cells, bacteria, viruses,
and other harmful agents.
- Who knows what else might happen!
And remember you are trying to develop a new habit. Psychologists
claim that it takes 17 repetitions for something to become a new habit
so persevere!
