The Eco Tour has been on the drawing board since 2008.
Orginally the idea of Melanie Rees, the tour has remained
exactly that until early 2011 when it attracted the support of a
small group of volunteers and Brighton & Hove
Council.
Thanks to the Marks & Spencers volunteer
program, employee Heather Quin helped trial the first
tour, visiting all venues while mapping the route.
Brighton & Hove Council financed the first trial
on The Big Lemon and
we were privileged to be driven by the man himself, Tom
Druitt, founder of the company. Volunteers Chloe
Banks (8yrs) and Dan Morgan took the tour and gave
us their views and Lisa Miller filmed the day.
Ruth England and Paolo Boldrini at Brighton Peace & Environment
Centre (BPEC) met with us and generously shared their wealth of
wisdom.
We were fortunate when Gemma Hindi contacted us and agreed to
help compile information on all the tour venues so we could develop
an Eco Passport to accompany the tour.
Lila Hunnisett, a BPEC
volunteer has kindly swapped camps temporarily and agreed to
volunteer her energy and design our Eco passport.
Thanks to all these wonderful people. If you want to devote some
of your energy to helping develop the Eco Tour please contact
