Volunteer Opportunities

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we are registered at Companies House as a not-for-profit organisation and we have committed ourselves to working “in the best interests of the community”.

At the moment we are looking for volunteers in the following positions:

Co-ordinator / The Green A to Z
The Green A - Z is a directory of reduce, re-use, recycle opportunities in Brighton and Hove. It is updated every week. We are looking for an individual / individuals who have internet access and can work from home. You will be invited to meet with the Creative Director on a regular basis to discuss the development of the directory. If you are interested in this please contact Melanie Rees
Co-ordinator / The Green Diary
The Green Diary is an on-line diary which offers comprehensive listings of environmental events and milestones. The diary is reveiwed on a weekly basis. We are looking for an individual / individuals who have internet access and can work from home. You will be invited to meet with the Creative Director on a regular basis to discuss the development of the diary. If you are interested in this please contact Melanie Rees
Co-ordinator / The Green Library - Position filled
The Green Library is currently a large quantity of newspaper cuttings and articles related to environmental issues. These need to be organised to create a library which will be situated on The Green Centre Bus. We are looking for an individual / individuals who can work from home. You will be invited to meet with the Creative Director on a regular basis to discuss the development of the library. If you are interested in this please contact Melanie Rees
Project Leader / Bottle Top Scheme
Our milk bottle top recycling scheme is already up and running and is supported by brighton & Hove Council, M & S, Starbucks, Brighton Peace & Environment Centre and many individual collectors. New people join the scheme on a weekly basis. We are looking for an individual / individuals who can develop the scheme further. You will be invited to meet with the Creative Director on a regular basis to discuss the development of the directory. If you are interested in this please contact Melanie Rees
Grant Applications
We rely on grants and donations to support our work. We are looking for someone to work as part of a two person team helping to fill in a grant application form / forms. If you are interested in helping please contact Melanie Rees.
Workshop Leader
The Green Workshop is a mobile education unit which attends fairs, festivals, schools and businesses. The workshop is tailored to each event. We are looking for people who would be interested in working in partnership on single events. This would mean working with one of our workshop leaders to put together a workshop for a specific event. You could do this as a one off. If you are interested in this please contact Melanie Rees
