You can re-use your envelopes by sticking a piece of paper or a self adhesive label over the previous address.

Envelopes, including windowed enevelopes, can be included in your kerbside recycling along with paper, cardboard, drink cans, food tins, aerosols, plastic bottles and glass jars & bottles [glass in separate bin].
How?
Include the envelopes with windows - no need to remove them.
Do not tear envelopes into small pieces as small pieces of paper clog up the sorting machinery.
