Yes Kinder Egg & Chocolate packaging can be recycled.
RECYCLED Where?
This scheme is run by Terracyle. The nearest public drop off point is Shoreham-by-Sea. Unless you are visiting there anyway this would not be a sustainable option. You can sign up as a private collector with Terracyle.
Alternatively you can break down the different components as follows:
Flexible plastic packaging and chocolate wrappers can be included in the flexible plastic schemes operated in supermarkets.
Aluminium foil can be included in the Green Centre scheme.
We are currently researching whether the rigid plastic packaging can be included in the council's hard plastic recycling scheme.
The idea for Kinder was born in 1968 in Alba, Italy thanks to Michelle Ferrero and William Salice. Production began in 1974.
Three-and-half billion Kinder eggs are sold globally each year.
Kinder Eggs were banned in the USA. The hollow chocolate egg with the toy surprise inside has not been allowed due to a 1930s law banning candy with non-food objects inside.
